I have always got the impression that Snape liked Ron more than either Harry or Neville. As far as I remember Severus was only rude to Ron once in the DADA lesson about ghosts and inferior in the sixth book where he nastily called him “the boy so solid he can't apparate an inch across a room”. I'm sure that 90% malfoy fangirls are actually TomFelton fangirls. If someone like Mundungus Fletcher had portrayed the role of malfoy no one would have given a shit about him. In the books, I would make Ron and Hermione a couple in the beginning of the DH. Ron wouldn't leave during the horcrux hunt. And Ron wouldn't quit his auror job.
